Collection and Use of Personal Information

We may also use personal information for internal training and quality assurance purposes, to understand and assess the interests of visitors with a view to improving our services and our website, as well as any other purposes permitted by law.
When you visit our website, we may also collect technical information about your interactions with our website, using electronic means such as cookies, pixels and other techniques. This information may include information about your visit to our website, including the IP address of your computer and which browser you used to view our website, your operating system, screen resolution, location, language settings in browsers, the site you came from, keywords searched (if arriving from a search engine) or the number of page views. This data is used to both measure and improve the effectiveness of our website or enhance the experience for our visitors. We treat this information as personal information when it is associated with your account or contact information.
Google Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics, which allows us to see information on user website activities including, but not limited to, page views, source and time spent on our website. This information is depersonalized and is displayed as numbers, meaning that it cannot be tracked back to individuals. You may opt out of our use of Google Analytics by visiting the Google Analytics opt-out page.
Facebook. This site uses a Facebook pixel in order to record information concerning the way in which visitors use our website. This pixel records and provides Facebook with information concerning such use, such as the browser setting of the user, a hashed version of the Facebook ID and the URL which is being visited. You can manage Facebook’s use of data so collected by visiting Facebook’s ads settings page.
Microsoft Advertising. This site uses Microsoft Advertising tags, including the Universal Event Tracking Tag, in order to record information concerning the way in which visitors use our website. You can manage Microsoft’s use of data so collected by visiting Microsoft’s ads settings page.

CrazyEgg. This site uses CrazyEgg, an analysis and feedback tool that provides us with information about user behaviour. CrazyEgg records user movements, such as mouse swipes, hovers, clicks, and engagement with interactive page elements. Sharing of Personal Information
We will not share your personal information with any nonaffiliated third party without your prior consent, other than as authorized by law or as follows:
- Third-party service providers. We may hire service providers to perform services on our behalf. We provide service providers with a limited amount of information that is necessary in order for them to provide their services and they are prohibited from using the information for other purposes. These service providers are not permitted to disclose this information to others.
- Transfer of Assets or Other Transaction. We may disclose personal information to a third party in connection with a transaction involving a transfer of COVI Canada’s assets and information in its custody or under its control, an amalgamation, reorganization or financing of parts of our operations. In the event the transaction is completed, your personal information will remain protected by applicable privacy laws. In the event the transaction is not completed, we will require the other party not to use or disclose your personal information in any manner whatsoever and to completely delete such information, in compliance with applicable laws.
- Other permitted reasons. Applicable laws may permit or require the disclosure of personal information without consent in specific circumstances (e.g., when investigating and preventing suspected or actual illegal activities, including fraud, or to assist government and law enforcement agencies). These circumstances include situations when permitted or required by law or when necessary to protect COVI Canada, our employees, users of our services, or others. If this happens, we will not share more personal information than is reasonably required to fulfill that particular purpose. Personal Information Outside of Canada
Your personal information may in some cases be transferred to jurisdictions outside Canada. As a result, you understand that your personal information will be subject to the laws of other jurisdictions and may be available without notice to you to foreign government authorities under lawful orders and laws applicable in such jurisdictions.
Security of Personal Information
We employ organizational, physical and technological measures to protect the confidentiality of personal information and to safeguard personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification, in light of, among other things, the sensitivity of the information and the purposes for which it is to be used.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes for which it was collected and for which consent was received, unless otherwise authorized or required by law. Personal information that is no longer required to fulfil the identified purposes will be destroyed, erased or made anonymous.
